How about if you put it in plainer English.

<p><p>I think you're on the right track though. The main
thing is to err on the side of quality. All defaults
should use "quality" and the most obvious menu choices
should be "quality" based. Any use of "-bitrate" should
generate a warning message (and a dialogue box which says
"Click Ok if you're sure you want to use bitrates..."
in any graphical interface.

Most users aren't stupid, if they see the word "quality"
then they'll go that route. We just have to make
it obvious to them that they're not in mp3 land any
more.
