How about a GUI written in Ruby and GTK+.  I've been fooling around
writing GUI stuff this way.  It's quite nice . . . and pretty easy to
do.  And it's cross-platform (Windows) and free.

Michael, you were volunteering to do the backend coding:

Am i right that you'll work on this if someone (like me?) does the GUI?
