[speex-dev] Speex encoding data characteristics

Hello,

must the source data stream have the same characteristics such as
bit-rate, sampling-rate(...) as i will encode it with speex?

What will be happen if the source data stream have the
characteristics:

Sampling-rate: 22050 Hz
Bit-rate: 16 Bit
Channels: 1

and i encode it in Speex in narrow- or wideband mode? Thanks for the
info!
