I am quite sure that there are some expreimental/in developent stage 
compressions out there that sounds great.
The questions is for me more of a ideological choise than a question of 
soundquallity. And ofcurse a matter of software and hardware support. 
IMHO my format of choise is based on the above stated. Why would I use a 
non free technology for sound compressing when everything else I use is 
free (as in beer).
