The format supports an arbitrary tree of coupled channels. The current
encoder just falls back to uncoupled mode when there are !=2 channels (i.e.
like you encoded them all as separate mono files) because it's unaware of
the coupling geometry.

The decoder should happily decouple things however the encoder coupled them,
but the player will need to know how to map the resulting outputs to the
right speakers.
