Both AAC and MPC are not *new things*.
Both of them do well in sound quality which is better than MP3 (and Ogg?)
and compression ratio, so they are good solution for loving personal music
storage problem on Computer.
I was considering to use them to replace Mp3 for storing music on my
computer since they have better sound quality.BUT,both of them are not as
popular as Mp3,(Sven as Ogg in the furthen,I thing.)Therefore,I am using Mp3
and considering to use Ogg if it does a obvious better sound quality than
Mp3 in the further.
I WILL NOT use AAC nor MPC.It is because THEY ARE NOT FREE in both money and
techniques (Do you remember why Ogg is created?) .Ogg is open source and Mp3
is *nearly* free to use so both of them cost people nothing. It is important
that once the source code is obtained, people can port the encoder and
decoder to ANY OS with thier own music file.
By the way,if I want to have a better quality, why dont I use LOSSLESS FORMAT
,such as Ape and FLAC?So,AAC and MPC is nearly kicked out of my mind.
P.S.In your letter:Is it FLAC?You wrote "FLAK".IF it was FLAK,pls tell me
what ti is.

Subject: [vorbis] Ogg compared to MPC and AAC
In researching Ogg Vorbis, I have started to become aware of many other
audio formats I never knew about, such as FLAK. Well, today I have become
aware of two other formats I hadn't heard of before: MPC and AAC. Can anyone
tell me what they think of these formats in comparison to Ogg Vorbis?
If anyone considers this Off-Topic, please feel free to email me personally.
I'm not trying to piss anyone off. :)
Thanks,
Jeff
