The SB512 is based on the EMY10K. In fact, I orginally purchased the card
for BeOS, which has really good support for the EMU chipset. The newest
(current) versions of NetBSD and OpenBSD also support this card, as well as
Win2K and on.
I asked about Debian support because I remember that they are usally a
little behind other Linux distributions as far as kernel versions go. Potato
2.2r5 was just released.
