Because you might burn your Oggs onto a CD one merry morning in May, and
lend that CD to me.  So then your "scribblings" can either enlighten me
or baffle me.

The discussion continues because it has not yet come to a resolution.
Standardization efforts take a while.  The replacement for RFC822 took
YEARS of mailing list discussion.

Where did we imply that anyone would be forced to use our
Recommendations?  We find them useful, and we feel others will also find
them useful, so we would like them linked to from the Xiph website as
one possible way of doing things.
