BTW, it could save work if the comment editor is in a way that allows
simple integration into the plugins. A winamp plugin comment
editing, for example, will be more useful than a standalone one
for windows (IMHO). However, there is also sonique... I have
never used it so I don't know anything about it. Similar considerations
go for X windows. Unix people would prefer a standalone program to
have a command-line interface more probably, and the GUI is more
convenient to be in the player.
Another BTW: winamp-related stuff should probably be delayed a little
until the winamp 3 API is out. The in/out API is a already there,
and it seems WA3 will have a generic comment-edit GUI because the
API includes methods to access the comments as a collection of named
fields - seems good for us :-).
I think WA3 will be released in less than a month, and the winamp
community will switch fast.
