I tried that. However,

  # tcprobe -i vts_01.mp2
  [tcprobe] MPEG program stream (PS)
  [tcprobe] summary for vts_01.mp2, (*) = not default, 0 = not detected
  import frame size: -g 720x576 [720x576]
       aspect ratio: 16:9 (*)
         frame rate: -f 25.000 [25.000] frc=3
                     PTS=0.2200, frame_time=40 ms, bitrate=8000 kbps
        audio track: -a 0 [0] -e 48000,16,2 [48000,16,2] -n 0x2000
                     PTS=0.2200, bitrate=192 kbps

so it appears to be a valid MPEG2 PS, but,

  # ffmpeg2theora vts_01.mp2
  Input #0, mpeg, from 'vts_01.mp2':
    Duration: 01:51:04.5, bitrate: 6219 kb/s
    Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg2video, 720x576, 25.00 fps
    Stream #0.1: Audio: 0x0000
    Deinterlace: on
    Resize: 720x576 => 384x288
        0:01:49.95 audio: 0kbps video: 233kbps

No audio!

Am I being dumb again ?

Regards,
Ian.
