This effect is used by apple for their slideshows ;-). As I use linux and mac I thought it would be a nice to have.

The purpose of the Ogg Video Tools is to have a number of command line tools, that could easily be used on the server side with not having a hundred cross references to other packages. A few other tools I am working on is a resizer (to match a given widthxheight format -> resizing and inserting borders, if needed), a tool to create easy thumbnails etc.
So I think, using LiVES is more focused to be used on the desktop, isn't it!?
