[Speex-dev] Few basic questions

Hello,

I am planning to use speex for a little project...

there is still a bit of unclarity about codecs:
I recently read about XVid that you could add the entire library to your
application and call the functions
I also read that you could do it like this:
you install XVID in your OS and use routines to call it, so you don't have
to ship it with you app...
how about this, is this correct? and how is it with speex?

Can i just include the whole speex library with my program?
and how should i do it?

or isn't this necessary?
