I'm still counting less than half that. In any case, I still believe
that the memory use can be reduced by more than half by doing the same
work I did for narrowband. This means eliminating some buffers that
aren't necessary and replacing a lot of 32-bit works by 16-bit works.
It's not a trivial task, but it can be done.
