Hello folks. I understand this is the development email address, but I don't have any others to use, maybe you can help.
I'm an engineer at XM Satellite Radio in Washington, DC. I'm scouting for other low bandwidth algorithms for some voice content. Speex looks pretty interesting. My goal is to find a promising codec for 2Kbps.
I see the download links on the pages offer various software, but the one link for a DECODER for COOLEDIT and WINDOWS media player is dead.
I have installed the DBpowerAMP converter and have some files converted, but I cannot play the SPX files in Windows Media Player.
Any guidance?
A couple of other questions
====================
- Has there been any successful satellite streaming projects using Speex?
- Has there been any projects having a decoder embedded in an IC
- If none of the above, what type of processing power for real-time Encoding/Decoding are we talking. Does anyone have real-time encoding/decoding software yet?
Thanks for any input
