Well, first I was thinking of rewriting all the code in C# while
changing the bit-stream...
OK, that was a joke! Did I scare anyone here? ;-) Seriously, my main
focus is to stabilize a few things so I can release 1.2. No idea when
that'll happen, but that's what I'm trying to do. Of course, I'm still
trying to improve the fixed-point, the denoiser, the echo canceller and
other stuff in the process. Documentation is also on the list and I'm
looking for volunteers.
No new Speex feature on the horizon so far, but I've recently started
(very) early work on another codec (temporarily) called ghost
(http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/ghost/). It will be aimed at high-quality
audio with low latency, so it is *not* a replacement for Speex. Of
course, don't hold your breath for this and don't even bother getting
the code unless you want to get involved in the technical stuff
(sinusoidal+wavelet is the idea so far).
