[paranoia] a disturbing echo on the last track!

The problem could either be a bug in cdda2wav (I know of no such bug
and I consider it unlikely), or misbehavior of your drive's firmware
(more likely).  The only way to know for sure if cdparanoia will help
is to give it a try.
