Possible.  or our cache defeating algorithm isn't always suceeding on
a drive that makes mistakes (and caches them).

I'll provide a link to a patch.  For single samples, interpolation
works well; later versions of Paranoia (eventually, eventually) will
have built in general purpose interpolation algorithms, but that's a
ways off.
