[paranoia] Lots of '-' on first track

No no, that's not what I mean at all.  Sorry if I was unclear ;-).
I know perfectly well what '-' means, and I've been using
cdparanoia and computers in general for quite some time -- perhaps
I should have mentioned that I'm not a newbie :-).

What's happening is that I *always* get '-' on the first track,
and *never* on the others.  These are CDs that used to cause no
problems at all, and apart from the first track, they don't do
that nowadays either.  (When I say "used to" I mean "before I
upgraded my Redhat distro, the Linux kernel, *and* cdparanoia to
the latest versions -- all at the same time".  So I don't have any
idea what caused this.)  And if you often get jitter on the entire
first track, and *only* on the first track, you would perhaps
suspect, say, a bug which affects some offset only on the first
track.

I know that too -- that's why I bought the most expensive Plextor
CD (re-)writer available a few months ago (as mentioned in my
first letter).  ;-)
