[paranoia] ATAPI-SCSI-Emulation

Hi!

My question might be a little bit appart from the topic but I've got
to learn a few things.

Up to know I had only SCSI devices and I don't know much about IDE.

Is this ATAPI-SCSI-Emulation a COMPLETE replacement for ATAPI-Support?
I mean can ALL the features of the CDROM be used with that emulation
or do I have to build two kernels, one with ATAPI support for normal
use of the ATAPI-CDROM and one for using it with 'cdparanoia'?

How reliable is ATAPI-SCSI-Emulation, is it as good as the direct
ATAPI-Support?

A friendly member of this mailing list reported me that his ATAPI
dvd/cdrom would become device: /dev/scd0 by using that emulation.

Are there any problems if there are already some other SCSI cdroms,
e.g. an old cdrom and an cd-writer? Does the ATAPI device than
become automatically: /dev/scd2 ?

Is there a manual available for this topic or an Howto?

Thanks for your help.

Friedrich
