I tried this on another linux box, and got the following...
Jul 8 07:47:04 missuz kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/1, assigned device number 6
Jul 8 07:47:04 missuz kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 951
Jul 8 07:47:04 missuz kernel: usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=6 (error=-110)
Jul 8 07:47:04 missuz kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/1, assigned device number 7
Jul 8 07:47:04 missuz kernel: usb.c: USB device not accepting new address=7 (error=-110)
This is 2.4.18-3, on a Celeron, FR33E Motherboard.
Then I tried my laptop (also running Linux) and got the love I was looking
for (2.4.9-34). I'll keep fiddling (I haven't built 2.4.21 because that's
like, work and stuff) and continue to report machines.
Still haven't synchronized yet, but things are looking up.
