[Icecast] Audio Quality

Hello,

I would like to ask if anybody knows of a equalizer or high pass filter that can be used to remove static from a live audio feed?    We have some streaming files that are a little distorted but its coming from the original files and or stream.   Turning down the volume just make it quieter but you still can hear distortion.   Any ideas?
