Well, you can either have a regular text file containing a list of files to 
be played, one per line, or you can have perl or python-based scripts.  And 
I believe that development code also supports the simple scripting used in 
Ices2 (i.e. write it in anything and have it output the name of the next 
file to be played).

There may be other options, not sure, but these should suit most needs.
