Hi:

The downside with the Real approach is that you need to have enough grunt
on your encoder box to chern out several different versions of the same
stream.  Once the technicalities of bitrate pealing are worked out,
somehting like this should be achievable with only one encoded stream...
Now that will be a fine thing when it eventually happens.
