[Vorbis] iRiver iFP-790 and its Ogg Vorbis support

I have tried it with high quality encoded files (7), as well as with CBR 128kbps files and ABR 128 kbps encoded files.

It might have the bitrate limitations.  What quality did you use to
encode those files and does the bitrate jump wildly up and down?
