Well, I've no interest in starting any sort of Mac vs. PC debate, but
someone who uses a Mac isn't going to miss software apps that have never
been available to them, and someone accustomed to using Windows most of
the time isn't going to find a compelling reason to use a Mac instead.
It's pretty much a religious thing.

When it comes to Unix on a laptop, though, I find it hard to beat Mac OS
X.
