I thought the CPU requirement for Ogg and MP3 were about the same,
especially with tremor. Can someone give me more information on these
"low accuracy mods" on the tremor engine I keep hearing about? Can the
amount of accuracy vary? I was hoping to write something that could
play oggs on even REALLY horrible hardware. My idea was to have the
accuracy change dynamically through playback based on an equation like
A=1-(R-(T)) where A is the accuracy (1 being full accuracy), R is the
time required to decode T milliseconds of audio and T being an
arbitrary number that could be tweaked until the best system was found.
Of course that equation isn't exactly what I would use but you get the
idea. That way even the univac could decode the music, lol, it would
just sound horrible.
