In that case I'm surprised you can tell the difference between anything
above q2.  I'm using less-than-cheap speakers (low-end B&Ws) and most of
the time I can't hear tell the difference between q3 and the original,
and even then I suspect the differences I /can/ hear are due to Vorbis'
over-emphasising high frequencies, which goes away at q6+.  Possibly
'tis just my ears and/or lack of experience in knowing what to listen
for, but if you can hear artifacts at q8 and q9 that to me suggests that
there's something wrong with your oggenc or player.
