No, no.  I was not saying the MAC sucks.  I said in an earlier post that
I knew nothing about MAC so how could I make such a determination?

What I was saying was that for me, MS-Windows is not a viable platform
(for the reasons given) and if MAC only runs on MS-Windows then that
alone is enough for me to disqualify it from further investigation.

(Besides, I'm now quite happy with FLAC which is achieving file sizes
around 20% of the RIFFs from which they are sourced.  An extra 12% saving
over the FLAC size seems little gain in absolute terms to balance against
losses in less quantifable areas.)

In today's world, MS-Windows is prevalent on the desktop and in the
home, and for many computer users -- and particularly those with little
technical computer knowledge -- is it a suitable choice.  But there
are many of us running operating systems far more suited to our needs,
and if MAC is not available to us then we will probably not concern
ourselves with it.
