[vorbis] Slightly fast playback of files on SuSE 7.3 install...

Try looking at the sound card/sound card drivers. Some newer cards only do
48000kHz output. CDs (And therefore most .ogg files) are encoded at
44100kHz. Might be the cause of your 8% faster/higher pitch playback.
