Hi,

John Zitterkopf sent a mail to his beta-testers and registered users
about the "Consumer Broadband and Digital Television Promotion Act"
containing this link:
http://www.vanshardware.com/articles/2002/03/020325_CBDTPA/020325_CBDTPA.htm

Although I'm not an American, I find it quite interesting and
disturbing, which is why I want to share it to the list. I think it
might well affect Ogg Vorbis. Does anybody know more about it? To me,
this sounds like America's shooting its own legs once again, in the
tradition of the DMCA and the SSSCA ...

I can't say that I understand at all why and how such stupid things can
happen in America. It'd be nice if someone more into this matter could
shed some light on it, especially if and how it could affect Ogg Vorbis
(because it's the most important open source project based in America to
me).

Moritz
