There are some people who like using the Debian-packaged kernel sources
because of the extra patches that are applied. I prefer to NOT use the
Debian-packaged kernel sources because of the extra patches applied. I
don't use make-kpkg either -- I don't see a need. The whole kernel build
and install process is simple enough as is.
