Hello.
I have been running an RC2 Vorbis stream for some time now using all Ogg
files in the broadcast (encoded at 350kbps). The set up is Winamp 2.74 with
Oddcast DSP 26 running through Icecast2 Win32 Beta 1 from Oddsock
(www.oddsock.org).
This stream is running at 96kbps at present, and I would like to get some
feed back as to its fidelity and the stability of the transmission. Please
check it out. http://www.djlithium.com:8064/djlithium.ogg
I have had this stream up now for almost 3 weeks with the new RC2 Vorbis
Encoder running, and it's a definate improvement in both sound and CPU
consumption with the recent beta 26 version of Oddcast DSP. Still, I would
like to get other peoples impressions of it. I would also like to know how
well metadata is coming across for others, since I have not enabled it in a
stream until this recent release.
If you want to hear this against an MP3 stream try
http://www.djlithium.com:8000/listen.pls (56kbps) or
http://24.113.1.24:8040/listen.pls (128kbps). These two Mp3 broadcasting
stations are using MP3 files encoded at either 128kbps or 256kbps but are
streamed using KasterBlaster Mp3/Pro 0.6.0, Oddcast DSP 25 and winamp 2.74
at VBR rates for each. (Much nicer then shoutcast's DSP CBR crap, and faster
too).
Responses should be emailed to djlithium at hotmail.com or if you feel the rest
of the list should read about your comments, responde here.
Thanks in advance.
