These are database fields, not words. Don't invest so much in the
literal meaning of the name. :-)
It does seem like something like SONGWRITER is appropriate in some cases.

Amen. And I've come to believe it has to have a really good ui or people
won't enter the data 'properly'. I guess they don't give degrees in
library science for nothing.
