I wrote about this once but it was ignored...  I don't know if it's only
my system's problem but I suspect it isn't.  My system does know what a
network looks like :-), so every time httpInit is called - once at every
winamp startup - it pops up an annoying "Error Initializing
Windows Sockets" message and doesn't proceed until I press OK.

I just comment out the line and rebuild the plugin, but if there are
compile-impaired windows users out there experiencing the same problem,
maybe you should remove this message / set a flag and show this message in
about() / provide an alternate version with one like this done (as
Mattew did to the dialog) / allow to inhibit in configuration stored in
.ini or registery.
