Yes, I know what you meant. If you want to play MP3's gapless you
should try Shibatch mpg123 input plugin together with the gapless
output plugin. In this Shibatch plugin is an option to "suppress zero
samples". Works fine for me.

BTW. my former reaction was more about what Jack Moffitt said in the
interview. He said that Ogg "removes the silence gaps that we have
with MP3". I say: Ogg doesn't make these gaps but in practice most
users will still hear gaps when they play Ogg files.
