Hmm. And what about all those radio-stations that use icecast, shoutcast
(or any other mp3-streaming engine?).
Just image this on a webpage:
- Low-quality stream for modem (32 Kbps mp3): click here.
- Medium-quality stream for dual ISDN (80 Kpbs MP3): click here.
- High-quality stream for dual ISDN (80 Kbps vorbis): click here.
- High-quality stream for cable or ADSL only (128 Kbps MP3): click here.
IMHO, people just want to listen to music, at the best possible quality.
If that is mp3 or vorbis; is for -most of them- of no importance at all.
On the internet, content is king.
If <some-very-wellknow-group> pre-releases one song of their new album on
their website, they just want to listen to it. If the only available
format is 'ogg'; and they need to upgrade their winamp for that (I guess
there must be a option to just install the plugin); they will do that!
Cheerio! Kr. Bonne.
