Are you using the latest plug-in? I think this has been fixed:

changes since v1.04:
* fixed crash with extremely low bitrate streams
* fixed 100% CPU usage on buffer overflow <==
* some other tweaks

Plug-in on Winamp.com is not the latest, but this one is:
