Lossless splitting of files can be done without reencoding - vcut does
that, though it's not the most user-friendly program at this point. I'll
clean it up this weekend, probably. It can split on arbitrary sample
boundaries, in fact - and playback of the split streams together is
identical to the original file.

Abuses of the comment header will not be officially sanctioned. Ever.
