This is almost certainly an unrelated bug. Should still be fixed. 
Could you compile ogg123 (and libvorbis, libvorbisfile, libogg) with debugging on, run ogg123 under gdb, and send a backtrace? 

(if you're not sure how to do this: "make debug" in each directory instead of "make", then run "gdb ogg123". Inside gdb, "run commandlineoption1 commandlineoption2 ..." (e.g. "run file.ogg"), then when it crashes, type "bt" and send us the output of that.
