One minor gripe: as I understand it the expression i.e. is short for "That
is". In your document you should us e.g., short for "Example". Aside from
that I like the proposal. I'm a collector of many styles of recordings
(classical, jazz, pop, spoken word, theatre, etc) and this covers
*almost* everything I've struggled with in the past.
I don't know if this has been discussed (I lurk part time on this list),
but has the recording source been accounted for? I have a fair amount of
files ripped from vinyl that may now (or in the future) have corresponding
digital media versions. Or, as another example, a live to ogg recording of
my band. I guess these can be handled in the ADDENDUM field. I don't see
this being properly satisfied by the VERSION field.
