I just thought of a crazy Idea(tm). The tag system
for ogg is very flexible. Why don't we just create a
tag that the transcribing software would set to true
if the song was first decoded from another lossy
format. Or even have the tag set to the bit rate (or
average bit rate for LAME) of the original format.
This way the folks with the discerning ear can weed
out those songs before being downloaded. I believe
ogg is set up in such a way to make it possible to
download the tag without downloading the whole song.
Does anyone see a problem with this?
