Why not save some disk space by converting them?
Many users can't hear difference between trascoded MP3<->Vorbis.
I certainly can't (I don't hear ANY difference between 128k
MP3 and Ogg Vorbis, even with my headphones and a high volume).

The point is, some people wants to save disk space, while the quality
loss is within acceptable range to them.
