with some DDE or the new scripting stuff or another garbage.  Just 1 (one)
command-line tool must exist to get anywhere.

Dos Navigator is greater.  It's now open-source. Too bad it's pascal
(*disgust, remembering school labs*), i'd tweak it otherwise.
Otherwise 4DOS it the best you can get with COMMAND.COM compability.
With DJGPP you get a nice unix environoment (on a good day :-).
