Tom, you couldn't be closer to a good plan. I am sure game companies
_especially_ would pay (should I say donate?) reasonable amounts to further
the development of Vorbis (and Ogg in general). Probably in return for
something as small as a little help with implementation.
And that certainly shouldn't stop with audio, either. Can you imagine how
much interest entertainment companies would have in a close-knit audio/video
platform as nifty as Ogg promises to be? If they can up the quality and down
the size of their FMV, there will be some very happy developers out there.
Ooh, and just imagine free, web-site based updates to b/g music for games. I
haven't been following (nor do I understand in the least) the XML
developments related to Ogg, but I'm sure they'd come in handy too..
And after all, if it's non-profit... you really wouldn't need to ask them
for much anyway, so long as it covers costs. Certainly not what FhG are
interested in.
