If you are sure that Vorbis is clean
from Thompson's patent portfolio, then
why not challenge the Thompson VP's 
statement to the contrary...

Attempt to get as much free press on it
as possible...   It would seem that the reporter
would do a followup.. especially since this looks
like it could get hot...

Challenge them to prove or recind their statement!

Be great to formulate a sponsorship plan to
discuss in the article also... but perhaps premature?

..just an idea..
