[vorbis] YAPQ (Yet Another Patent Question)

I don't think the u.k. has these patents and if not
then it's probably a europe wide thing. I think it's
mostly an american thing but it still affects european
comapnies because we want to sell our software in the
states. :(

So a lot of people avoid gif and the like, also a lot
of development tools are made in the states and will
have things like gif disabled till you get a liscence
from compuserve, so even people who are in the u.k.
sometimes have to pay the royalty for a product only
available in the u.k. just to get the the component
that supports it!
