Sure, I agree completely on this. It might make the implementation a 
little bit more complex, but is a much better design.

When thinking about this, there are even other ideas dropping into my 
head. Wouldn't it make sense to restrict the RTP channel to _only_ audio 
packets? The identification header could be modeled in the stream's SDP 
descriptor, the setup header should be retrieved OOB (either using a 
secure transmission mechanism or a separate RTP stream) and the comment 
header(s) would be replaced by a metadata stream.
