[vorbis-dev] application/ogg is a proposed Internet standard.

Regarding the issue with identifier strings in the Ogg Stream content: I
mailed the IETF AVT list on this subject with the idea, that if they
really want this to be strongly standardized and coordinated, control of
registration of identifier strings should be transferred to the IANA,
the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority.
Whether they/we want this or not remains to be discussed.
Personally I wouldn't mind attaching the Ogg format to more Internet
standard bodies (this would be advantageous for the format in an
Internet standards context), but want to hear the inventors' opinions.
