The former suggestion isn't probably going to happen, but the latter will, at
some point.  Support for guessing the output driver from the extension is
already in libao, it just requires ogg123 to use that info.

Feel free to file a "bug" at http://bugs.xiph.org against ogg123 to remind me
to do it.  :)
