[vorbis-dev] Can compressed music sound better than uncompressed?

Consider the following... You have a noisy old recording. The dynamic
range of the actual music may only extend to 10kHz, the noise however can
go up to 15kHz. If the codec lowers the frequency range of the recording
downto 10kHz before encoding it has effectively removed noise while
leaving actual data in place. The reproduction will be different but it
might sound better.
